How to play Chess Rugby?

Basically the rules of chess apply as normal, however, the chess pieces now take the form of a rugby union team, with each piece representing a specific type of rugby player.

The pieces are as follows...

The Pawn will represent the Forwards: Slow but dependable

The "P" symbol is to remind you that these are to be played as Pawns

The Rook will represent the Wingers: Fast and direct

The "R" symbol is to remind you that these are to be played as Rooks


The Knight will represent outside centres: elusive with the ability to break the line

Chess rugby back / knight
The "K" symbol is to remind you that these are to be played as Knights


The Bishops will represent the half backs: The ability to strike deep

The "B" symbol is to remind you that these are to be played as Bishops


The Queen will represent the fullback (but don't tell him to his face): Fast, with the ability to cover the entire field

The "Q" symbol is to remind you that these are to be played as a Queen


The King will represent the Ball: Checkmate your opponents ball to stop the game - but make sure you're ahead on points first!
